Try some succulent fruit.
The juicier the fruit is the better off you are. Not only will fruit give you a sugar lift that’s modified by the fiber, so it’s not a spike or a rapid drop, but it also contains water. Sometimes people feel exhausted when they’re even slightly dehydrated and juicy fruit can help rehydrate them. Try freezing grapes and have them ready for a cool snack on a hot summer day or make a smoothie of fruit, both fresh and frozen, and some veggies to dip, getting nutrients, fluid and a boost of energy.
Get some exercise.
Get your body moving. A good workout can get circulation moving, but if you don’t have time for a full workout, just do something, like jumping jacks, squats or run up and down stairs if necessary. When you get regular exercise, you’ll reduce fatigue significantly. Whether you do power walking, a regular workout or ride a bike, your improved stamina will help prevent the low energy levels. When you get moving, it provides immediate help and aids in preventing the problem.
Get hydrated!
Grabbing a piece of fruit can help, but nothing is better than good ole’ H2O for a quick pick-me-up. Your body is composed of approximately 60% water. It keeps everything running smooth. Even mild dehydration can cause exhaustion. Instead of grabbing a cup of coffee, grab a bottle of water and see if you don’t feel better quickly. It helps clear the mind and boost your energy level. If you don’t like plain water, try infused water. You can use fruit, herbs or vegetables to get a flavor that appeals to you.
- Have a cup of tea. It doesn’t cause the jitters or stomach problems like coffee but does give you an energy boost. All tea, especially green tea, has health benefits. Try herbal teas like ginger or peppermint for an energy boost.
- Go out in the sun. Your body is geared to an energy boost from the rays of the sun. It helps reduce stress, which can provide that energy boost. If you have the option of walking barefoot in grass, do it!
- Grab a snack that combines protein with carbs, like fruit and Greek yogurt with nuts or cottage cheese and fruit. The carbs provide quick energy and the protein keeps it high longer.
- Get adequate sleep. Keep a sleep schedule to ensure you get quality sleep. Cut out all television and electrical devices when you go to bed and make sure you get 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night.
